Overview

The Institute for Medical Leadership® was founded in 1999 by Susan Reynolds, MD, PhD, originally as part of the American Medical Association. In 2001 it became an independent organization under Dr. Reynolds’ ownership and direction with the mission of providing customized leadership development programs and executive coaching services to current and future physician leaders and healthcare executives.

All of the programs and services offered by The Institute highlight innovative solutions to challenges facing physician leaders today.

Faculty

The nationally known core faculty includes physicians who have held significant leadership positions in hospitals and health systems, The Joint Commission, and/or medical societies such as the American College of Physician Executives and the American Medical Association. We recognize the importance of including  attorneys who specialize in healthcare legal issues, healthcare executives with strategic and financial expertise, communication skills instructors, conflict resolution experts, and executive coaches who specialize in physician leadership development.

Our Difference

The Institute distinguishes itself from its competitors by customizing each program to fit the specific needs and budget of the client and by the breadth and depth of its outstanding faculty of nationally-known experts.
